Types of CCTV Camera
Traditional Cameras
Traditional cameras – sometimes called body cameras or C-cameras – are fixed position cameras that come in a variety of sizes. Because they are often bulkier than other options they act as a visible deterrent for intruders and can be used indoors and outdoors. With detachable lenses we can easily adjust the field of view for maximum coverage where you need it most.

Dome Cameras
Dome cameras are compact cameras housed in a glass casing, usually mounted on a ceiling or wall. The casing protects against impact while also obscuring the angle and position of the camera for optimal discretion. They are often used indoors and offer 360-degree coverage. Virtually maintenance-free, these cameras are commonly found in shops, pubs, and schools.

Bullet Cameras
Bullet cameras are manufactured in many styles and have fixed lenses that don’t require manual focussing, similar to traditional cameras. They often offer more advanced features like InfraRed illumination and high-resolution images. Typically weather-resistant and with versatile mounting options they are optimised for outdoor use for homes or small businesses.

Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ)
PTZ cameras are highly versatile cameras that allow for flexible monitoring of a specific area. With remote control capabilities, operators can easily adjust the camera angle and zoom in on specific objects or areas of interest in real time. PTZ cameras are often used for monitoring large areas like car parks or shopping centres, where comprehensive coverage is necessary.

Covert Cameras
Covert cameras are designed to be discreet, making them a popular choice for undetectable surveillance. They can be disguised as everyday objects like smoke detectors or clocks, and are often used to monitor employees or catch criminals in the act.
High Resolution
The resolution of a CCTV camera measures the number of pixels it can capture and determines the overall image quality. Higher resolution cameras (over 400 TV lines) produce clearer, more detailed images, which is important when trying to identify suspects or vehicles.
Monochrome vs Coloured Cameras
Coloured cameras can capture fully coloured images, which can be useful for identifying important details. However, they are less effective than monochrome cameras in low light conditions, which can produce better results thanks to infrared sensitivity.
Day/Night Options
Day/night cameras use coloured footage during the day and monochrome infrared footage at night for maximum protection. CCTV cameras with infrared (IR) lighting can capture clear images even in total darkness with non-visible infrared illumination.
CCTV Monitors
We offer an array of monitors and screens to help you view your footage easier. Many customers choose TFT (thin-film-transistor) screens, which are particularly beneficial where space is limited, but we also offer other monitors ranging from 5” to 42” plasma screens.
Digital Video Hard Disk Recorders (DVR’s)
DVRs are the heart of a CCTV system, allowing you to record, store and manage high-quality footage from your cameras with ease. Modern DVRs offer a range of features, including motion detection and easy search and playback functionality, with remote access from anywhere.
Quality of Installation
The quality of the installation is crucial to the performance of your CCTV system. A poorly installed system may not capture the footage you need, or may be vulnerable to tampering. Our fully qualified engineers understand video transmission and have many years of experience to ensure each of their customers receive the best installation possible.
